Coca-Cola PNG donates K43,000 to National St John Ambulance Service

Coca-Cola has donated PGK 43,000 to the National St John Ambulance Service, marking the second consecutive year the company has supported the organization during the festive season.

The donation was held last Friday in St John Ambulance Headquarters, Port Moresby.

The donation will contribute towards the purchase of new ambulances and support the ongoing work of St John Ambulance, helping ensure essential emergency care reaches those in need during the festive season.

In addition, Coca-Cola PNG is also supporting Christmas celebrations for St John staff and volunteers in Lae, Kokopo and Port Moresby. Related news on the donation: https://thepngbulletin.com/news/coca-cola-png-presents-k43000-to-national-st-john-ambulance/

The celebrations include live Christmas music, food, Coca-Cola refreshments and games, providing an opportunity for frontline workers to enjoy the festive season despite their demanding schedules.

The initiative aims to recognize and appreciate the dedication of National St John Ambulance staff and volunteers, many of whom continue working through the holidays while sacrificing time with their families to care for others in need.

Rachel Nainggolan, Senior Manager – Frontline Marketing for Coca-Cola PNG, said the company wanted to acknowledge the selfless service of emergency responders during the holiday season.

“This holiday season, Coca-Cola wants to recognize and reward those in our local communities who selflessly give their time to care for others,” Ms. Nainggolan said. “We hope this allows them to pause during the busyness of the holiday season to find and share moments of joy and refreshment.

“By donating to National St John Ambulance, we hope to help the Green Angels with the resources they need to continue their vital work. Making their Christmas parties extra special is our way of saying thank you to these everyday heroes.”

National St John Ambulance Executive Medical Director Dr Mangu Kendino welcomed the donation, describing it as both practical and symbolic support.

“We are incredibly grateful to Coca-Cola for this generous donation,” Dr Kendino said. “It is not just a financial contribution but a reinforcement of the support we receive from the community. This donation will help us enhance our services and ensure we are prepared to respond promptly to emergencies, especially during the busy festive season.”

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PNG Country Manager Tim Solly said the company remains committed to supporting local organizations that make a positive impact in communities nationwide.

“We are incredibly proud to bring refreshment to every corner of Papua New Guinea and show our commitment to local organizations that do incredible work in the community,” Mr. Solly said.
