PNG digital entertainment brand Liklik Media passes 10 million views

Papua New Guinea’s growing digital entertainment industry reached another milestone after local content producer Liklik Media surpassed 10 million views across its original drama productions and social media platforms.

The achievement highlights increasing demand for locally made entertainment and marks a major step for a company built around telling authentic Papua New Guinean stories through digital platforms.

Liklik Media has built an audience of almost 100,000 followers through short-form drama content, community engagement and storytelling centered on everyday life and local experiences.

The company told PNG SUN that one of the company’s biggest successes has been its recent production, Love & Coconut, which attracted strong online engagement for its portrayal of family values, relationships and familiar aspects of life in Papua New Guinea.

The series generated millions of views and sparked conversations among audiences both within the country and among Papua New Guineans living overseas.

Company representatives said the response shows there is a growing appetite for local stories that reflect the realities, humor and experiences of PNG communities.

They said audiences are increasingly connecting with content that feels familiar and gives local actors, creators and filmmakers a platform to tell stories from their own perspective.

The rise of digital-first producers such as Liklik Media is helping reshape Papua New Guinea’s entertainment space by creating opportunities for emerging talent and opening new pathways in the creative economy.

Looking ahead, Liklik Media plans to expand its production schedule with more drama series focusing on social issues, youth development and culturally grounded storytelling.

The company says its goal remains simple-to continue creating content that entertains while reflecting the voices, challenges and aspirations of Papua New Guineans.
