Digicel PNG has partnered with Puma Energy to introduce a new cashless payment option for fuel through the CellMoni mobile wallet.
The new service, called “Fuel Up and Go with Digicel PNG CellMoni,” was launched yesterday at the Puma service station opposite the University of Papua New Guinea and Nature Park in Port Moresby.

The system allows customers to pay for fuel directly from their mobile phones using the CellMoni app.
The service is designed to make fuel payments faster, safer, and more convenient by reducing the need to carry cash.
Speaking during the launch, Digicel PNG Mobile Financial Services Managing Director Thompson Sakyi said the partnership is part of the company’s effort to provide useful digital services for everyday use.
“Fuel is something many Papua New Guineans buy every day. With CellMoni payments now available at Puma Energy stations, customers can pay quickly and safely without using cash,” Mr. Sakyi said.
He said the service would help customers manage their money more easily while also improving safety and convenience.
CellMoni fuel payments are currently available at selected Puma Energy stations in Port Moresby, including Waigani, Boroko, UPNG, and Lawes Road. The service is also available at Eriku in Lae and in Madang Town.
The company said customers will no longer need to carry cash or wait for change when buying fuel. Transactions can be completed instantly through the mobile wallet, and users can also track their spending through the app.
Mr. Sakyi said the partnership is also expected to support the growth of digital payments in Papua New Guinea.
“We want to help build a stronger digital financial system in the country. Expanding CellMoni services will support a more cashless and inclusive economy,” he said.
Digicel PNG is encouraging customers to download the CellMoni app and use the new payment option at participating Puma Energy stations.
