GR. FOUR STUDENT WINS NATIONAL ESSAY AWARD

A bright young mind from Koroboro International School is making headlines after winning the 2025 Consumer Rights National Essay Competition.

Ruthvik Hebri, a grade four student, has been named the Male Winner for the Primary Schools Category by the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC).

The essay competition challenged students to answer the question: “If you have the opportunity to promote one sustainable lifestyle that would change PNG in the next 50 years, what would it be and how would you go about doing that?”

Ruthvik impressed the judges with his thoughtful and forward-thinking essay that advocated for sustainable agriculture as the key to Papua New Guinea’s long-term development.

In his winning submission, he emphasized that adopting sustainable farming practices would empower communities, boost food security, and support the nation’s economy well into the future.

The ICCC commended Ruthvik for his deep understanding of the topic and his commitment to creating a better future for the country. “Thank you, Ruthvik, for your incredible insight,” the Commission said in its official announcement.

Ruthvik’s achievement not only highlights his passion for sustainability but also serves as an inspiration to young students across the country to think critically about national issues and take pride in contributing solutions.
