IBT College commences 2026 academic year with orientation at 6-Mile campus

The International Business and Technical College (IBT College) last Friday officially commenced its 2026 Academic Year with an inspiring Student Orientation held at its 6-Mile main campus in Port Moresby.

The orientation program welcomed new and continuing students who will undertake studies in a wide range of Business and Technical programs designed to equip them with practical skills, industry knowledge, and pathways to further education.

IBT College offers a comprehensive suite of programs in Business Management, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Office Administration, Computing, Information Technology, and various Technical Courses. Programs are delivered from Certificate to Diploma levels, including Bridging Courses that provide clear academic pathways into Degree programs through affiliations with reputable colleges and universities in Australia.

Speaking during the orientation, IBT College Director Mr. Sunny Yunyan Sun said the College remains firmly committed to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education that responds directly to workforce demands.

“Training at IBT College is unique because our courses are routinely upgraded and developed in response to emerging skill demands in the workforce and the open labour market,” Mr. Sun said in a statement.

“We have tailored training programs that address skill gaps and workforce needs. This makes our courses highly practical and ensures that our graduates become game changers wherever they go.”

Mr. Sun emphasized that IBT College’s curriculum is designed in close alignment with industry expectations, ensuring students graduate not only with qualifications, but with confidence, competence, and a competitive edge in employment and entrepreneurship.

He encouraged students to embrace discipline, innovation, and resilience throughout their studies, reminding them that education is the most powerful investment they can make in their future.

“Our motto, ‘IBT College-A College That Changes Lives,’ is not just a slogan,” he said.

“It reflects our commitment to transforming lives through education, empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to business, industry, and national development.”

The 2026 Orientation program also introduced students to academic policies, student support services, campus facilities, and expectations for academic excellence and professional conduct.

Mr. Sun said as Papua New Guinea continues to strengthen its economic and private sector growth, IBT College stands ready to play a pivotal role in developing a skilled, competent, and innovative workforce prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving economy.

IBT College warmly welcomes all students to the 2026 Academic Year and looks forward to another year of achievement, transformation, and success.
