NCD GOVERNOR’S INTERVENTION ENABLED YOUNG MATAPERE TO PARTICIPATE IN U15 AFL OCEANIA CUP

#AFL Hula teenager, Nama Matapere’s participation in the under 15 AFL Oceania Cup has been made possible with the last-minute intervention by NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop.
A day before his team’s departure, Governor Parkop supported Matapere on Monday at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium with K1,500 tour levy.
In a letter, the boy sought sponsorship from NCD Governor’s Office.
The PNG AFL Team is expected to leave the country on Monday for Suva, Fiji. The management has been contacted to confirm whether they have left our shores already, but this story was published when their response is still pending.
Matapere has been selected under the Australian Football League (AFL) PNG Talent Development Academy in the country.
Wishing him all the best, Governor Parkop urged the boy to take advantage of the opportunity and develop his skills to become a star in future.
Elated mother, Pitiwinnie Matapere said they were grateful and honored with the kind gesture.
She thanked Governor Parkop for the much-needed sponsorship.
