The Papua New Guinea Union Mission (PNGUM) has donated K1 million to the Transpacific Union Mission (TPUM) in support of the TPUM for Christ evangelistic initiative across the Pacific.
Papua New Guinea hosted its two-week PNG for Christ campaign in 2024 which saw between 260,000 to 300,000 souls baptized across 2,000 sites around the country.
PNGUM President Pr. Danny Philip presented the gift this week, saying it was a personal blessing for him to be part of TPUM for Christ, particularly through his involvement in Fiji for Christ.
PNGUM is also supporting the campaign by sending 28 preachers from Papua New Guinea to serve at evangelistic sites across Fiji.
Pr. Philip said the contribution reflects PNGUM’s commitment to the Great Commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19: “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
He highlighted the unique mission field of the Pacific, where communities are spread across thousands of islands and often separated by great distances.
“Our islands may be isolated and scattered across the vast Pacific, but we are not forgotten in the Great Commission,” Pr. Philip said. “We are the ends of the earth.”
The K1 million contribution represents PNGUM’s partnership with TPUM in taking the gospel to communities throughout the Pacific and strengthening the mission of the Church through TPUM for Christ.
The Transpacific Union Mission and Fiji Mission received the generous gift with grateful hearts, expressing their sincere appreciation to PNGUM for its strong partnership and commitment to advancing the mission of the Church throughout the Pacific.
