The Papua New Guinea Defense Force (PNGDF) has enforced an immediate “Close Camp” across all units and military establishments for one month, as authorities move to tighten control amid ongoing recruitment concerns.
According to a local report by Post-Courier this morning, the directive was issued by Chief of Defense Force Philip Polewara.

Mr. Polewara said the measure is aimed at ensuring “strict security, personnel control, and stability” during the current situation.
The development follows recent issues surrounding the PNGDF recruitment process, which has come under scrutiny and review after allegations of irregularities.
Meanwhile, another local report indicated that around 300 recruits were recently released from training as part of efforts to overhaul the system and restore integrity in the force.
