Young UPNG graduate passes away in India while seeking Heart Surgery

A painful news is crushing hopes and expectations of parents, guardians, friends and relatives into sorrow.

It is the announcement of Mercy Jammy’s passing in India. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Papua New Guinea.
She comes from Wabag and Mulitaka in Enga.

Late Mercy was diagnosed with a rare heart condition-Atrial Myxoma, a tumor in the heart.

Her parents, guardians, relatives and friends have worked very hard to secure much-needed funds last year to support her heart surgery in India.
Sadly, she passed away while seeking surgery there, a double blow for her family.

Her passing is not just an ordinary one. She has gone with her dreams of starting her career, furthering missionary work, further education, of course, a family and hopes of reciprocating community support to those who have become part of her journey.

The story is still developing.
