FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR ORO-POM HIGHWAY

The National Government and the Northern Provincial Government are jointly planning to carryout a feasibility study for the potential road network from Port Moresby to Oro.

A reliable source told PNG SUN that the study would cost more than K1 million.

With the Government’s ambition to connect the Northern tip of the country with the Southern end, this potential road network aligns with its flagship Connect PNG program.

The source did not disclose how long the road would be, an estimate cost of the road and when the road construction will start. It is understood the study will cover answers sought from these questions when it is concluded.

The feasibility study, the source, said would start as soon as discrepancies identified in the study’s proposal are rectified and fixed.

The proposal is being subjected to due diligence before the Department of Works and Highways processes the payment for the feasibility study.
