SI FORMER PM VISITS SOGAVARE MEMORIAL SDA CHURCH AT GEREHU STAGE 6, PROMISES TO HELP BUILD NEW CHURCH

Former Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Elder Manasseh Sogavare, and his wife Emmy, visited the Sogavare Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church (SMC) at Gerehu Stage 6 in Port Moresby on Saturday.

The church was started by his late brother, Pastor Moses Sogavare, and was named in his honor.

Elder Sogavare and spouse Emmy travelled to Singapore for medical treatment. After the treatment, the duo stopped over in Port Moresby for the Sabbath fellowship.

He spent time with the local church members and shared fellowship with them.

His visit showed the strong friendship between the people of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

During a short speech, he said he plans to retire from politics and focus on spreading the Word of God.

He also promised to help raise money in the Solomon Islands to build a permanent church building at Gerehu Stage 6. The master plan for the proposed development is being pre-assessed by NCDC Planners.

Meanwhile, SMC senior Pastor Jack Tale has also been invited to be a guest speaker in the upcoming Solomon Islands for Christ program.
