PNG MEDICAL BOARD UNDER SPOTLIGHT

The misinterpretation of Chief Justice, Sir Gibbs Salika’s CT scan result by expat doctors working in a private hospital in Port Moresby cast doubt over the integrity of PNG Medical Board.

Speaking to local media, Sir Gibbs called for an inquiry into the board.

He said he was wrongly diagnosed with mild stroke instead of Bell’s Palsy.

He queried what kind of doctors were being employed in this country.

He continued whether they go through rigorous tests to qualify themselves to practice medicine in the country.

Responding to Sir Gibbs, the Pacific International Health denied their mishandling.

PIH said Sir Gibbs was referred to them for a CT brain scan from another private hospital.
