IBSU presents k54,201 to Cheshire Disability Services PNG

Founder of IBS University and IBS Group, Sir Mick Nades, last week presented a cheque of K54,201 to Cheshire Disability Services PNG General Manager, Mr. Gerald Bengesser at the university campus outside Port Moresby.

The donation was raised during the 80th Birthday Celebration of Sir Mick Nades, held at Stanley Hotel on February 14, 2026.

In his briefing, Sir Nades thanked everyone for their contributions to the charity event, saying it symbolized their collective commitment to advancing inclusive development and supporting organizations that serve vulnerable communities.

“We have collected a total of K24,201 in cash during my 80th Birthday celebrations,” Sir Nades announced.
He said: “In addition, generous pledges were made by distinguished national leaders,” including:

■The Prime Minister of PNG, Hon.James Marape
■Hon. Sir Peter Ipatas, CSM, Governor of the Enga Province
■Hon. Kinoka Hotune Feo, Minister for DHERST and Sports

Cheshire Disability Services PNG General Manager, Mr. Gerald Bengesser thanked Sir Nades for the donation which was made possible through his 80th Birthday Celebration.

Mr.Bengesser says: “Cheshire Disability Services PNG continues to play a critical role in providing rehabilitation services, mobility support, empowerment programs for persons living with physical disabilities across the country.”

This contribution presented will assist the organization in sustaining and expanding its services, Mr.Bengesser said.
Mr.Bengesser concluded by saying that at the heart of Sir Mick’s legacy lies a deep commitment to service.

He added, over the years, that Sir Nades became an active supporter of numerous humanitarian causes, including:
●The PNG Red Cross
●Port Moresby General Hospital
●Operation Open Heart
●Red Shield Appeal, City Mission
● Cheshire Home
●Information Youth Program.

The donation of K54,201, raised during the 80th Birthday Celebration, is a testament to Sir Nades’ ongoing commitment to humanitarian work.
