Engineers John Pidik, Henry Kaunger, Abraham Gena, and Edward Polau successfully completed intensive international training and rigorous competency-based assessments, equipping them to support the airline’s growing A220 fleet.

Chief Executive Officer Alan Milne described the certification as a proud moment for both Air Niugini and Papua New Guinea, saying it proves local talent can meet and exceed global aviation standards.

The milestone strengthens the country’s technical independence, reduces reliance on external expertise, and reinforces confidence in Papua New Guinea’s aviation future.

This accomplishment reflects dedication, professionalism, and strong collaboration with global partners—marking a new era of excellence for Air Niugini and the nation.
