Police in the National Capital District have commenced Easter operations, rolling out coordinated roadblocks and traffic checks across the city to improve public safety during the Easter holiday period.
Acting ACP for NCD and Central, Benjamin Turi, was reported in local news outlining that the initiative will focus on enforcing compliance among motorists, particularly targeting unroadworthy vehicles, drink driving, and the misuse of government vehicles.

He explained that officers will be stationed at key locations and will also monitor vehicles fitted with excessively bright or colored lights, which can pose risks to other road users at night.
“We will conduct night-time traffic operations to identify and deal with those using bright lights that can endanger others,” Turi said.
ACP Turi noted that while vehicle modifications may be acceptable during the day, they can become hazardous after dark when visibility is reduced.
Drivers found breaching traffic regulations will be issued Traffic Infringement Notices (TIN), with a seven-day period to settle fines before further penalties apply after two weeks.
He added that particular attention will also be given to drivers operating under the influence of alcohol, as well as public servants misusing official vehicles.
