PM Marape backs Court ruling, upholds democracy

Prime Minister, James Marape has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Parliament’s independence and the separation of powers.

The court rejected Deputy Opposition Leader, James Nomane’s bid to stop Parliament from debating a constitutional amendment on Votes of No Confidence (VONC).

PM Marape said: “The Supreme Court has upheld our Constitution. Parliament must function freely without interference.”

He urged leaders and citizens to respect the courts and follow legal processes.
“We must uphold the rule of law and resolve issues legally,” he said.

The government remains committed to transparency, stability, and national progress.
