PNG ENERGY MINISTER SEEKS STRONGER TIES WITH INDONESIA

PNG’s Minister for Energy, Peter Namea Isoaimo, paid a courtesy visit to Indonesia’s Ambassador His Excellency Andriana Supandy yesterday morning in Port Moresby.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between both nations.
In a media statement, Minister Isoaimo thanked the Indonesian government, especially President Prabowo Subianto, for their willingness to work closely with PNG’s Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape.
The Minister expressed interest in collaborating on energy development, agriculture, and economic growth in his district.
He highlighted Indonesia’s strength in affordable energy, downstream processing, and investment.
Kairuku MP invited the Ambassador to visit Kairuku to see its development potential and investment opportunities. Areas of focus included youth unemployment, manufacturing, marine industries, and tourism.
Ambassador Supandy welcomed the visit and praised the growing ties between the two nations.
He shared that Indonesia is ready to export affordable energy and invited Minister Isoaimo to attend the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia in October.
The meeting ended with both leaders committing to work together on shared development goals.
Minister Isoaimo thanked the Ambassador for his hospitality and encouraged technical teams to begin planning joint projects.
