The event brought together proud parents, families, sponsors, and distinguished guests to witness graduates receive qualifications across six specialized Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and professional programs.
The programs included Advanced Professional Diplomas in Information Technology and Data Science, Advanced Diploma in Server and Network Administration, as well as diplomas in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, and Cyber Security.
Datec Learning Centre General Manager, Mr. Ravi Chandran, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the significance of the occasion.
“Today is not just the completion of a program, but the beginning of new possibilities for every student,” he said.
“Each of you has shown resilience, discipline and determination. You chose to invest in your future, and that choice has brought you to this proud moment.”
He said the institution remains committed to equipping Papua New Guineans with skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
“Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to succeed.
You are now part of a growing community shaping the future of this country,” he added.
Telikom PNG Board Director, Mr. Gideon Karali, also praised the graduates for their hard work and perseverance.
“Your decision to study here reflects the strong foundation in technology and innovation that this institution provides,” he said.
“Papua New Guinea has great potential, and opportunities exist for those willing to work hard and persevere.”
He encouraged graduates to remain focused and not compare their journeys with others.
“Never give up. You are all running your own race, and your time will come,” he said.
Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology, Professor Garry Sali, acknowledged the partnership between the university and Datec Learning Centre, describing it as vital for national development.
“This partnership is built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to empowering students with practical skills,” he said.
Professor Sali reminded graduates that their qualifications represent more than just certificates.
“Your diploma represents knowledge, application and attitude. When combined, these will enable you to succeed and make a difference in your communities,” he said.
He also paid tribute to parents, lecturers, and families for their support throughout the graduates’ journeys.
Academic excellence awards were presented to outstanding graduates following the speeches.
Certificates were then presented by key representatives and partners.
