He was responsible for setting up the company’s Operations Business Unit and was part of the executive leadership team.

Ok Tedi Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kedi Ilimbit said the appointment comes as the company moves to advance development of the Misima project.

“The results Mr. Burger and his team delivered in Operations clearly demonstrate his leadership capability. I am confident that his experience will be instrumental in leading Misima Minerals to become an operating mine within the next two years,” Mr. Ilimbit said in a statement.

Mr. Burger said the company was targeting the next phase of development for the Misima project and that he would work with company staff, stakeholders and partners as preparations continue toward operations.

Ok Tedi said Mr. Alan Bong will take over as Acting General Manager Operations while continuing in his current role as General Manager Strategic Business Development and Optimization.

The leadership changes come as Ok Tedi positions Misima Minerals as part of the company’s long-term expansion plans.
