Seven Years of Service: Investing in Education for Papua New Guinea’s Future

PNG Prime Minister James Marape wrote and we paraphrased it:

Today marks seven years since our government took office. On 30 May 2019, I was given the extraordinary privilege of becoming the 8th Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea.

While I am the first to acknowledge that much work remains to be done, we have not stood still.

Together, we have delivered important developments that are helping to build a stronger future for our country.

One example is this multi-storey building at the University of Goroka, featuring an auditorium with a seating capacity of 5,000 people.

This investment reflects our commitment to education and to producing high-quality primary and secondary school teachers for Papua New Guinea.

We believe that partnering with institutions like the University of Goroka, which trains our future educators, is an investment in our nation’s development.

By strengthening teacher training, we are strengthening the foundation of our country’s future.

Thank you to all Papua New Guineans for your support as we continue the work of nation-building.
