STAFF ASSAULT, HOLD-UPS LEFT GEREHU STAGE-6 CLINIC CLOSED FOR THREE MONTHS

Violence and hold-ups inflicted on a couple of hospital staff have left the St Paul’s clinic at Waikele in the Gerehu Suburb, Port Moresby closed for over three months now.
PNG SUN was told that the Catholic Church’s Health Services arm, the Archdiocese of Port Moresby has closed it down indefinitely.
In a notice by the management, patients have been advised to seek medical treatments elsewhere.
The latest incident involved an expat being assaulted and robbed of her mobile phone and other valuables near their convent as she was walking back from the clinic after work on August 02, 2024.
On the same day, a male colleague was robbed outside the clinic.
Previously, the expat with other staff was robbed inside the clinic. These incidents have been reported to Gerehu Police Station.
