Papua New Guinea’s undefeated boxing star Sheilla Yama has successfully defended her IBF International Super Lightweight title after defeating Australian challenger Jessica Messina at Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, last Saturday.
Yama maintained her unbeaten professional record with the victory in a fight that also served as an IBF world title eliminator, strengthening her pathway towards a world championship opportunity.
The victory adds another major achievement to Yama’s growing professional boxing career after she captured the IBF International title less than three months ago by stopping previously unbeaten Chinese boxer Yang Chengyu.
